The zodiac wheel is divided into 12 segments or "houses".  Each house represents different areas of life. Every house literally provides a home for the planets living there- giving each planet its own individual space to act out its particular energy. 1st House: Ruled by Aries. Covers all "First's". First impressions, Self & appearance, Fresh starts, Sign on the cusp- referred to as your rising sign.

 

2nd House: Ruled by Taurus. Covers all matters related to your immediate material & physical environment. 5 senses; Touch, Taste, Smell, Sound & Sight. Also rules income, money and self esteem.

 

3rd House: Ruled by Gemini. Rules all form of communications. Talking, Thinking, Gadgets & Devices. (Cell phones/ Internet) Also covers siblings, neighborhoods, local travel, libraries, schools and teachers.

 

4th House: Ruled by Cancer. Rules the "foundation" of all things. Including your home, privacy, basic security, parents, children, mothering skills, nurturing & TLC.

 

5th House: Ruled by Leo. Rules self expression, drama, creativity, color, romance, fun & play.

 

6th House: Ruled by Virgo. Rules health, service (being of service to others), routine, diet, fitness & exercise and healthy living.

 

7th House: Ruled by Libra. Covers relationships (both business & personal), other people, contracts, marriage, business deals and fairness.

 

8th House: Ruled by Scorpio. Covers death, sex, rebirth, transformations, mysteries, merged energies (bonding on the deepest levels), also rules other peoples property & money (real estate, inheritance, investments etc.).

 

9th House: Ruled by Sagittarius. Covers the higher mind, long distance, travels, foreign languages, publishing, higher education, luck, risk, gambling and adventure.

 

10th House: Ruled by Capricorn. Covers public image, tradition, discipline, boundaries, rules, authority, fathers & fatherhood and clues to career path. The tenth house is also referred to as your Mid heaven

 

11th House: Ruled by Aquarius. Covers teams, friendships, groups, society, technology, videos, electronic media, networking, social justice, sudden events, surprises, inventions, science and astronomy.

 

12th House: Ruled by Pisces. Covers creativity, art, poetry, films, dance, journals, subconscious mind, endings, tying up loose ends, completions, after life, old age and surrendering.  Also associated with separations from society such as institutions, hospitals, jails, hidden agendas, secret enemies.
