💫Rising Sign/Ascendant Explained🪐
When somebody asks you, whats your sign? I'm pretty sure you answer with your sun sign, am I correct? But to be honest, Astrology is much deeper than just your sun sign. Just so you can have a better understanding of each and every zodiac sign, the different genders, the 3 separate qualities, the 4 elements, and all 12 of the houses and the meanings behind everything.
So, Everyone was born with a Rising sign. To find out your rising sign, you will need your exact time of birth. Not just a guesstimate, you need the EXACT time, because rising signs change approximately every two hours.
The rising sign occurs at the point where the sun rises over the eastern horizon. The ascendant is the exact point within the rising sign, and it is the starting point for the 12 astrological houses. The rising sign can be more prominent than the sun sign, so when someone asks you to guess their sign, and you get it wrong, it's possible that you are picking up the energy from their rising sign rather than the sun sign if that makes sense. The rising sign tells a lot about a persons appearance, manner, and behavior and it also has a lot to do with a persons childhood and youth. It relates to the kind of programming the person received while growing up. Nature is within our sun sign, moon sign and other planets, but nurture can affect our rising sign- sometimes in a big way.
Below I will go over the common traits and characteristics found in each of the rising signs personalities.
Aries Rising: People with Aries Ascendants are direct and quick. Their first instinct is to do, rather than think. They have a youthful, direct manner that sees what it wants & readily goes for it. Some Aries risings can be competitive but they put the most pressure on themselves. They do everything quickly; they get up quickly, get ready quickly, walk quickly and they have very little patience when it comes to people dilly-dallying. Their temper is very quick too, but it also disappears just as quick. Headaches, sinus and eye problems are common with this position.
Taurus Rising: Those with Taurus rising have a more go with the flow, practical approach to life. They love gifts and they take pride in they’re material possessions. They tend to take the easy way out of situations, they can be very stubborn persistent and reluctant to change. Comfort, security, and stability are the most important to those with a Taurus rising. They have a constant worry about finances and material things. They like to be around familiar surroundings. Their opinions and priorities are usually fixed from a very young age. They are usually very close and involved with their families and friends(& they usually only have a few friends).
Gemini Rising: Talkative and intelligent, full of questions (and answers) and they usually have a well developed sense of humor. Gemini rising tends to be a jack-of-all trades, and a master of none. They are charming and quick witted while interacting with others they usually make gesture with their hands while conversing with people. Gemini rising usually talks fast and walks fast with a spring in his step.
Cancer Rising: Those with a cancer rising have a knack for seeing who is real and who is fake.
They are skilled at adjusting in new situations or around new people. Those with Cancer ascendants are very in touch with their feelings and emotions. They’re have an impressive sense of self-awareness which makes them stand out from others. They often listen to their heart in emotional situations. Understanding and sympathizing with other people and consoling them is one of cancer rising specialty’s. They make great company to be around when going through difficulties the Cancer rising always know just what to say or do, to make a person feel better. On the other hand Sensitivity can sometimes get the best of them though, and cause them to act very rashly.

Leo Rising: Those with Leo ascendant have a sense of Royalty in the way that they carry themselves. Ruled by the sun, They feel the need to be the center of attention. They are very generous and warm hearted when it comes to those less priveliged. They always love to be in a higher position. Leo Rising's love to feel "liked" by others, and they consider themselves superior. Leo ascendants value their dignity and self respect immensely. They are full to the top with pride and they will not compromise when it comes to their self respect. That strong pride can also get them in trouble First they must show a good effort in order to deserve the respect and admiration. Those who fail to shine may become bitter aqnd insecure. A cruicial turn is when they learn to give with pure intentions and without expecting anything in return, that is when they will truly shine.
Virgo Rising: Those with a Virgo rising are very detail orientated and often catch the finest details that the others miss. Virgo rising can be a worry wart, especially when faced with new things. They often attract or are attracted to people that need their help. Virgo Ascendant is charming in a soothing way and they make a very loyal friend that will go out of they’re way when a loved one is in need of help. They are fast learners and they spend a lot of time analyzing situations or people around them. They have a sharp toungue and tend to criticize without thinking all the way through first, so they need to learn how to put themselves in others shoes(one of their big life lessons). Virgo rising can be very affectionate at home or in private, but they do not like public displays of affection. They are very dependable and are always there for those who need them in times of crisis.
Libra Rising: Libra rising is pleasant and fun to be around. They attract people easily with their charming demeanor and magnetic social skills. They are often very persuasive with their words in a soft gentle way, they have no need to be pushy because this comes natural to them. Libra ascendant are usually very polite and have great manners, very respectful of their elders. Even though they are very friendly they can sometimes appear emotionally detached or shallow. They are very romantic and gracious & people find it difficult to say no to Libra rising people. On the other hand, they can also be anti social, rude or shy and may be indecisive. They may appear to be soft but behind the smooth exterior could very well be a solid brick wall. Scorpio Rising: A person with a Scorpio ascendant was indeed loved and wanted in his early childhood but he was born into or surrounded by difficult people or a difficult situation which made him feel out of touch with others. When the Scorpio ascendant person enters adulthood, he has a more cautious attitude and has a variety of deep feelings that he keeps hidden from the outside world. He is intuitive and uses his intuition to assess situations/people. He is intense and passionate and will stand strong behind whatever he believes in. There is a quiet intensity to the Scorpio rising that people find magnetic, so when he speaks, other people usually listen because of this intensity. It takes a diligent person who understands emotional undertones to understand a Scorpio rising person.
Sagittarius Rising: Those with Sagittarius as their rising sign love to talk and they have a lot to offer. They have a great insight that can be very helpful to others, even if they aren’t very detailed. While they are very direct while communicating, people usually like them enough to overlook any harshness that is perceived. They have natural optimism which makes them appear to be happy even when in a bad mood. They arw very opinionatwd and will be glad to give their opinions whether asked for or not. They manage to keep they’re sense of humor no matter what is going on. They love freedom and being independent which often leads them to a traveling lifestyle. They do their best when they have a change of scenery every once in a while. If they get married, their partner needa to respect their great need for freedom and/or travel with them. Otherwise they will bore easily with the same routine and eventually want to break free.
Capricorn Rising: Those who have Capricorn as rising sign tend to take everything seriously. Even when telling a joke, they have a dead serious look on their face. They are very conscious of the image they project, to the clothes they wear, to the look on their face. They think if they look successful then they will have a higher chance at actually being successful. Capricorn ascendant is the one you want to have aroudn when you need a responsible reliable person. Beneath that contingent appearance though, they often are questioning themselves deep down. Despite looking like an overnight celebrity, Capricorn rising worked very hard to get where they are today. They will ignore their wants, and focus on they’re goals first and foremost before anything else. The only indulgences they will allow are the things that they absolutely need to guarantee their success. All of their sucess is the result of the conscious effort on their part.
Aquarius Rising:Those with Aquarius as their rising sign are very unique first and foremost and they will let it be known from day one. People will oftwn seek them out for advoxe because they come off as approachable and intellectual. Aquarius rising people are usually very Curious and well educated and usually show interest in anything that will advance the human race. Aquarius rising thinks they have seen everything and it is usually hard to shock them. They are usually the ones to shock those around them because they enjoy getting responses or reactions from others. Aquarius rising people often feel different or unique and they probably have felt this way their entire life. Aquarius rising usually expresses their individuality clearly, but not in a way that makes them appear weird or different. Sometimes they can be inflexible and try to force others to agree with their opinions. They are usually independent & having wealth or power doesn't impact them.
Pisces Rising: Those with Pisces rising are very imaginative and creative, and usually have an artistic talent or psychic abilities. They do not like a lot of attention or standing out in big crowds. They are generous, sensitive, and sentimental and can sometimes be taken advantage of because they are so open and compassionate. They are very sensitive to negative energy and criticism, and they can find it difficult to shield themselves from either one. Sometimes they can feel a lot of loneliness or can feel very isolated from others, but if they can learn to use this alone time to meditate or do something that they enjoy doing, they may be able to open up their talents unbeknownst to them and can use these talents to their benefit. Their lesson in life is to learn how to physically live their life, rather than dream it away.
